Aishwarya is a Senior Manager with MicroSave’s Digital Financial Services- G2P domain. He has more than 13 years of multi-disciplinary and hands on experience in handling policy framing, conceptualization and implementation of large scale projects/ schemes at ministry and state governments, banking and financial products sales and product management in reputed financial institutions. He has closely worked with bureaucrats in government and senior management of various organizations in a variety of roles. His expertise includes policy formulation, Government linkages, micro-credit (SHG financing), microinsurance, financial Inclusion, livelihoods, social benefit transfers, banking and insurance.
Some examples of his recent work include:
  • Assessment study for two Jansuraksha schemes viz: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMBSY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)in India, funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation: Conducted customer research on insurance awareness and behaviour; customer research on claim awareness and readiness; customer profiling; assessment of information dissemination across Jansuraksha  value chain; assessment of insurance literacy approach of bankers and insurers and claim value chain analysis. 
  • Technical Assistance to Kifiya Financial Technologies Plc (Kifiya) for Conducting Micro-insurance activities in Ethiopia, funded by Kifiya Financial Technologies Plc: strategic support tasks including establishment of separate microinsurance unit, registering Kifiya as a legal entity & developing partnerships stakeholders. 
  • Behavioural Biases Affecting Purchase Decision of PDS Kerosene Consumers for Alternate Cleaner Fuels in India, funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Responsible for in-depth discussions with beneficiaries following behavioural research & Human Centric Design (HCD). 
  • Two waves of assessment of Bank Mitrs (BMs) for Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) in India, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Overall planning, coordination and supervision of the project including survey agency selection, research plan preparation, designing the survey tools, data analysis, and report preparation. 
  • Design of Concepts using Human Centered Design and Behavioural Economics Approach to Increase Usage (transaction volume) of BSBDA amongst Low Income Group Migrant Workers in India, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: designing questionnaires, conducting interviews with the low income migrant workers, collecting data, analysing and developing prompts based on analysis for testing and dissemination. 
  • Skill & Livelihoods Support Unit, Support to National Policies for Urban Poverty Reduction (SLSU-SNPUPR Project) in India, funded by DFID: Coordination with financial institutions viz. RBI, SIDBI, DFS, M/o Finance, SLBCs and all banks for National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) implementation and policy framing; operationalization & roll out of NULM in States/ UTs; technical resource for capacity building for M/o HUPA & states for NULM activities. 
He has worked with organizations such as ICICI Bank and HDFC Standard Life Insurance wherein he has handled both product role as well as channel sales. Apart from credit and financial inclusion  he possesses  expertise in liabilities and third party fee products of banks and in-depth knowledge of insurance products. He is trained and holds certifications for insurance (IRDA) and mutual funds (AMFI) and has managed retail as well as HNI clients for banking and insurance business. He has managed large teams in projects implementation, business development and sales management.
Prior joining MicroSave, Aishwarya served as Credit & Financial Inclusion Specialist with ICF-GHK in a DFID project and was providing technical assistance to Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation for policy framing of NULM. He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and received Bachelor’s degree in Arts from University of Delhi. Aishwarya is fluent in English & Hindi.
