Access to housing is a basic right and is important in improving livelihoods of poor people. There have been various efforts to support the poor to access low cost housing. MicroSave recently with support from Habitat for Humanity International and some microfinance institutions in Kenya, supported the development of housing microfinance to improve housing situations among low income people.
