Senior Analyst-Research


Remote (Based on candidate's location) with frequent travel into East Africa & South Asia

The successful applicant will have at least 4 years’ work experience in Research and Analysis having interacted with research design, tool development and quantitative/qualitative research projects in the developing world.


The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with the other members of the Business Analytics team in ensuring data integrity on surveys, ensure quality management within data analysis within the set standards, report writing, resarch design and implementation as well as contribute towards the overall achievement of the research objectives set out for the domain.

The Key Responsibilities are:

  • Contribute towards the overall research design and implementation of research carried out under the Agent Network Accelerator (ANA) project which involves working with partners as well as creating the relevant partnerships and relationships with relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure quality control and assurance of field research and data analysis carried out

  • Compile and write foundational research reports on agent networks based on the wealth of ANA data in order to achieve the Business Analytics research objectives

  • Analyse primary data and co-author key ANA synthesis report(s)

  • Co-Author blogs based on ANA data as well as current DFS trends on the MicroSave and Helix websites

  • Actively participate and contribute towards partnership development and associated activities

  • Contribute towards organizational development by being a team player, and upholding organizational culture, values and reputation


Qualifications & Skills:

This position requires a self-driven, self-motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem solving skills who has worked within this field for at least four (4) years and has a proven track record illustrating his/her ability to deliver results within a similar capacity.

Other relevant skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills including flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, ideally multiple teas in developing environments conduction research

  • Advanced proficiency in SPSS and/STATA, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment

  • Strong communication skills

Education: A minimum of a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Research, Economics, Management, Social Science, Policy or  related field
Language:  Excellent knowledge and fluency in written and spoken English and professional writing skills. Fluency in Hindi/Urdu/Bangla/Swahili/French is an added advantage
